Medicare Rebates for children with Autism and Specific Disabilities

As part of the Better Start Initiative and the Helping Children with Autism schemes there are also Medicare rebates for children up to 15yrs of age as long as the management plan is in place before the child turns 13.  You will need a referral from you GP for these Medicare rebates. Team Care Arrangement (TCA)

If your child has a chronic or complex condition that requires ongoing physiotherapy, they will be eligible for Medicare rebates on 5 treatments in a 12 month period under the Team Care Arrangement. It requires your GP to write a care plan including physiotherapy and/or exercise physiology along with any other allied health therapies required. You will need to bring your referral from your GP.
