Better Start Provider
Q Paediatrics is registered to provide services under the Better Start Initiative (BSI) that was introduced by the Australian Government July 1, 2011.
Medicare Rebates for children with Autism and Specific Disabilities
As part of the Better Start Initiative and the Helping Children with Autism schemes there are also Medicare rebates for children up to 15yrs of age as long as the management plan is in place before the child turns 13. You will need a referral from you GP for these Medicare rebates. A fact sheet on these rebates can be found at http://www.health.gov.au/internet/main/publishing.nsf/Content/children-disabilites-factsheetforparents
As the NDIS rolls out across Queensland and the south east corner we are gearing up to provide services to our clients under their NDIS plans. We are currently not a registered provider however you can still choose to have services provided by our team. We have a variety of programs and services available to children with disabilities.
Team Care Arrangement (TCA) formally EPC programs
If your child has a chronic or complex condition that requires ongoing physiotherapy, they will be eligible for Medicare rebates on 5 treatments in a 12 month period. This is available under the Team Care Arrangement. It requires your GP to write a care plan including physiotherapy and/or exercise physiology along with other allied therapies required. At the beginning and the conclusion of the treatment sessions we write a report to your GP regarding the treatment undertaken and the outcomes. You will need to bring your referral from your GP.
